Stages 14 to 19
Malham to Edale, Days 4 and 5.

Wendy hands over the baton in Malham to Dave and Rowan.

Rowan and Dave had quite an attractive stage, full of nice fields. And cows.

The next handover - Kate, Lisa and Lindsay take over at Thornton-in-Craven

The girls headed off up Wolf Stones at quite some pace...

... though they did find time to take a few photos of themselves for posterity too...!

INTERLUDE

I GUESS THERE SHOULD BE ANOTHER ARTISTS IMPRESSION HERE BECAUSE STEVE AND ROSIE DIDN'T
GET ANY PHOTOS OF THEIR STAGE FROM PONDEN RESERVOIR TO HEBDEN BRIDGE.
HOWEVER JUDGING BY THEIR BEDRAGGLED AND TIRED STATE WHEN THEY GOT INTO HEBDEN BRIDGE
WE THINK THE IMAGES WOULD BE TOO SCARY TO RECREATE IN SUCH A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT.

It was 2am when Mike and Craig started out from Hebden Bridge. Their path started with what could be described as an ill omen...

Fortunately the path was open to walkers, and soon they found themselves on top of Stoodley Pike, grinning like idiots and in need of a shave!

Dawn over Yorkshire from the south flank of Robin Hood's Bed, after a long walk from Calderdale.

Mike and Craig approaching the last trig point. Thanks to Hairy Dave for the photo.

Almost at the end of stage 17 - Dave and Mark come to lend some encouragement at the final trigpoint.

At the end of stage 18 at Crowden - Dave and Matt hand over to Chris and Simon - the challenge, at times 2 hours behind schedule, is now firmly back on track.

Simon looks at the path ahead, over Bleaklow and Kinder to the finish line at Edale...

Baaaaaaaaa........

Come on chaps - there's a time limit to this, you know........

Chris finds time to build a sandcastle...

... and hide from Simon on Kinder trigpoint.

Almost home now, but wait - our intrepid walkers find a woodcarver's yard!

... Chris looks the guiltiest in this identity parade!

Chris and Simon arrive with 15 minutes to spare... to a rapturous reception!

FORWARD TO THE CELEBRATIONS!
