The Challenge
We plan to walk the Pennine Way, from north to south, as a relay team
in four days.
Starting at the Scottish village of Kirk Yetholm a total of nineteen teams will be carrying our baton non-stop,
through day and night, until they reach Edale in Derbyshire.
The route is Britain's most famous long distance footpath, which takes in
bleak mountains, high moorland and thick forest, and all the way the clock will be ticking......
The Walkers
Our teams will be drawn from our membership - former members of Lancaster
University Hiking Club, their friends and partners - and anyone else
who would like to become involved, especially current members of LUHC!
The Reason
It's all being done in a good cause! We're trying to raise as much
money as possible for the Back-Up Trust, a charity for people who
have become paralysed through spinal-cord injury. Please see our Charity
page for more details. |
