| About The Hiking Club |
|
The reason why we all spent so much time and money going to the hills and the pubs
whilst at Lancaster University, the Hiking Club was formed in 1967 (as far as we know),
and is one of the largest student societies in the UK. There are walking trips every weekend of
the University term and weekly socials too.
After over 30 years the Club is still going strong. Currently it has over 300 members,
and consists of members drawn from all over the globe, who came to Lancaster to see the hills as
well as study their course. The format of the Club seems to have changed very little since its early
days - proof if anything that a great concept can run and run...
The Official website of L.U.H.C. has been recently redesigned.
It is one of the most popular websites on its subject and also hosts the
Official List of UK and Ireland University Hiking and Mountaineering Clubs.
Please Note
The LUHC Alumni website does not in any way represent the official views of L.U.H.C., as the Alumni are
a separate organisation. Current Lancaster students, whilst welcome to come along to any of
our events, would be better off directing their questions about LUHC to the Club's
email address, although we'll try to answer any questions
if you really want to ask us!
