LOGBOOKS
The 1987 - 1989 Logbook

The 87 - 89 Logbook
A triumph for blue electrical tape.

After the gap in the logbooks that are in the Club's possession comes this little beauty - full of good artwork, "official" character assassinations and a seeming ongoing rivalry with the backpackers. Seems like a fun time to be a hiker.

The Backpackers
Originally an offshoot of LUHC, by this time the Backpackers had become a sizeable club in its own right. However there was still a healthy rivalry between the clubs. In this drawing, Jane gets a lift to Torridon with some dodgy types...

Mr Richard Tredgett, in his many guises...
Everybody loves an ex-President (so I keep telling myself) - Richard Tredgett, the 85-6 Prez. was still very involved with the Club whilst this logbook was being written, and appears in many of the drawings. Unfortunately these drawings contain a high level of satire. It seems the man in the bobble hat and glasses was a familiar sight...
Page 1 - The Club's fascination with sheep goes too far...
Page 2 - This logbook shows little love for midges (as do we all) - maybe this was why...
Page 3 - The ascent of Ben Bobble Hat. A little exposed in places...

Toilet Humour
Always a healthy source of Club jollity - these Hikers took the loo to their hearts...
Page 1 - The Official LUHC Loo Guide
Page 2 - And a competition associated with it - can you guess the toilet? (cos we can't!)

Collapsible Pastie Tents
Scottish weather can be a little inclement as these Hikers found out at Torridon '87.
