Glen digging out the door on the way to breakfast

Breakfast was delayed by ten minutes because we had to dig ourselves out of the accommodation block. There was a seven foot drift against the front of the building, which was in the lee of the wind. Going over for breakfast was an expedition in itself. Full winter gear for the 100 yards cross the base. Nobody did anything that day except read, eat, drink tea and sleep.

22:30: The weather is clearing. The sun has just come back from behind the mountain to the left. During the rest of the night it will continue to move towards the right. This photo is taken through sunglasses.
