Sykeside Weekend
11th to 13th October 2001
Organiser : Mike Amberry
Yes folks! It's back to Brotherswater again for the third year
in a row! This is probably because it's a site with everything we
need in a good area at the right time of the year...
If you fancy coming along I've copied most of the information below
from last year's page, all of which still applies!
I'm not sure I can lure anyone with home made fudge like Rosie
did last year, but I'll see if I can come up with something!
Hope to see you there,
Soupy-Twist,
MIKE.
If you fancy coming along then just turn up, but if you want to
make sure we know you're coming then just email us
- that way we can let you know if there are any last-minute changes of plan.
The Venue

| Directions: |
Travelling from the south, take the A591 Central Lakes road as far as Windermere.
Bear right up the A592 at the roundabout and head up and over the Kirkstone Pass towards Patterdale.
Once one the north side of the Pass, look out for the Brotherswater Inn, on the left of the road about
4 miles north of the top of the Pass.
From the north it's easy to pick up the A592 from just west of Penrith on the A66.

| Facilities: |
Toilets, decent showers, shop, on-site bar.
Bunkhouse accommodation is also available, but you'll have to arrange it yourself! See the Sykeside website. |
| Pub: |
The Barn End Bar, Sykeside Campsite. It's a stroke of immense good fortune that the campsite
also has a nice bar on site. It does decent food, sells good beer and, despite being on the small side, should
be big enough for us all at the end of October!
At the top of the site is the Brotherswater Hotel, which is a possible venue for a Sunday fryup, should
a little variety be called for!

| Further Info |
We'll be in a good venue, near loads of quality mountains,
staying on a comfortable campsite. Previous weekends have always
been well subscribed and very successful - so come along! |
