In a brave attempt to get back into climbing, we have decided to run a trip to the Roaches in Staffordshire (http://www.cressbrook.co.uk/leek/roaches.htm) over the 3rd weekend in July (18/19/20).

The camping will be at the exceptionally basic site at the bottom of Hen Cloud (SK008612) (a field).

Main focus of the area is climbing, but there is walking/riding/cycling in the area too. There is a B&B (and caff) across the road from the campsite (Paddock Farm, Upper Hulme, Staffordshire, Tel: 01538 300345) for the lightweights and there is a pub in Upper Hulme (The Rock Inn).

If you're planning on turning up then it's best to make sure we know you're coming by emailing us - that way we can let you know if there are any last-minute changes of plan.

From Buxton
Take the A53 south towards Leek, turning right into UPPER HULME after (approx) 10 miles. Past the Rock Inn, turning sharp right (only right turn from memory).

From Leek
Take the A53 north towards Buxton, turning left into UPPER HULME after (approx) 5 miles. Turning left before the pub.

Both:
Follow this road for about 3/4 mile (?), down over the river, through a cutting and then when you see a small wood on the right and a field of tents (unless you're there first!), that's us.

The house for the campsite is the last property on the right before you reach the field. The tap/toilets are in an out-building in the farmyard (sorry no showers). There are no facilities in the field itself.
