TRIP INFORMATION
Snowdonia Weekend
20th - 22nd July 2001
Organiser: Lindsay Woodward
The first Alumni trip of 2001 promises to be well worth the wait.
We're staying in the campsite opposite the Vaynol Arms in Nant Peris,
a little village at the mouth of the Llanberis Pass. The town of
Llanberis is only a mile away and there are plenty of mountains to keep
us busy - notably Snowdon and the Glyderau.
We can't guarantee good weather, but we can guarantee the sort of excellent,
laid-back weekend that worked so well at the end of 2000!
If you fancy coming along then you can just turn up, but if you want to
make sure we know you're coming then just email us
- that way we can let you know if there are any last-minute changes of plan.

Directions by car:
From Bangor - From the A55/A5 junction head towards Bethesda, and immediately take a right
turn down the B4366 (signposted to Llanberis). Keep following signs to Llanberis, going via
the B4366, the B4547 and finally the A4086. Stay on the latter through Llanberis and past the shore
of Llyn Peris, until you come to the village of Nant Peris. Take the first turning on the left and follow the narrow track
round to the campsite.
From Betws-y-Coed - Follow the A5 to Capel Curig and turn left down the A4086.
Turn right at the Pen-y-Gwryd Hotel and follow the A4086 up the Llanberis Pass. Once over the pass
and after passing through the village of Gwastadnant, Nant Peris is the next village.
The Vaynol Arms is on your left as you pass through the village - turn right just past the pub and follow the narrow track
round to the campsite.
You can see a map by

Directions by train:
The nearest main-line station is in Bangor (the nearest railway station is actually perched
on the crags above Nant Peris as part of the mountain railway, but that won't be much use to you!) -
if you need a lift drop us a line and we might be able to help.
